Clarke Hd Plus Tool Box 14 Drawer Cabinet Black Gold Review

My son is a few months into an apprenticeship in car body repair & has managed to accrue plenty tools to demand a chiffonier with a removable acme box, it's his 18th Birthday in January and then we are planning on buying him one for his Birthday

We've been looking a various options & wondered if anyone has whatsoever feel of Clarke, Sealey and The states Pro tool cabinets?

The Clarke ones I've looked at in auto mart & they seem quite robust & well made

Sealey are a well known make but I haven't seen their cabinets other than on tinterweb

The gamble is The states Pro Tools cabinets, they look very nice on Ebay, have proficient reviews on Amazon & people say skilful things on forums. But I'thou very dubious about spending 200 on something I haven't seen.

SnapOn & Mac Tools are out of the question, I've never spent that much on a car never mind a fecking toolbox, in fact my first house wasn't much more than some of SnapOn's cabinets

    Anyone accept any advice?

  2. I bought the black/gold Clark pro set for my birthday. Just nether 800 vat gratuitous and they are massive and I thought very good for the money!

I got this one it had a couple of hundred quid off at the fourth dimension though
And a cheaper option merely it weighs one-half as much

The Halfords one looks identical to Clarke, perchance Clarke supply Halfords? Very little departure in cost as well.

I'1000 not a Costco member anymore, I joined when they beginning opened but just went at that place twice.

What I'g wondering is, will a box costing say 400 exist twice as skilful or last twice as long every bit ane costing 200?

  6. I had a Halfords Professional chest (this i). It was brilliant for a hobby user similar me. I only sold it equally information technology didn't fit in the kicking of my car.

I replaced information technology with one of these (I think) from Machine Mart.

    No real difference between them.

Costco had cheaper ones than that
    Fabricated by homak
I have two meridian box's and a roller cab
I've had had for 15 years and been fine
Was 75 to 90 for the top box and 120 for the roller cab
    Dorsum in the day
Would probably be twice that or more now

They had blue homak ones in last twelvemonth that would take been ideal

another recommendation for the halfords 1, my dad gave me his when he got made redundant from work, great piece o kit!
  9. You lot'll probably find that depending on the brand you lot buy, that they are made by the same manufacturer.

I purchased Hilka branded drawer units from a local tool supplier and I've been pretty happy with it TBH, it's alright no complaints and was a reasonable price, does the chore for me. I later on purchased a Britool top box, which fitted on top of the drawer units nicely. Slightly better quality but as said earlier no complaints.

One of my son's colleagues bought a cordless impact gun from the Mac Tools van with a "Mac Tools" brand sticker on it, the sticker peeled off & it was a Sealey, naught wrong with Sealey except they're 100 cheaper than he paid for the Mac
  11. The halfords black jobs expect adept and y'all can go a good deal on the set now so. The red ones are I think a scrap crap every bit the top box is not the same size as the bottom. The he plus job from car mart is the daddy though !! If not ****ing massive lol

I take 1 of these Sealey "american pro" boxes.

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Sealey-Am...196030?hash=item25aba03ffe:g:kJ4AAOSw3ydVzKlh

Only I got information technology for l from a Scratches and dents ebay auction. Who cares when its a toolbox....

Corking quality - good brawl bearing runners and well built.

The fold downwardly front is a bit of a hurting when the box is upward close to a wall equally you take to open up the top fully to get into the drawers - then something to consider. I dont feel like it offers more security as the lock is the weak spot...

If I tin can work out where I got mine from I will send over the link.

I've got this one although I hardly utilise it now and so I'm planning to downgrade in the near future

  16. Mrs oldnick bought me my Christmas & birthday present today, a Halfords Professional person chiffonier and two top boxes for 299.
25kgs per drawer sounds stiff enough for a hobby user like me, God knows what I'm going to fill up it upwards with though.

What did you lot cease upwardly getting Gaz ?

I`ve just ordered one of the Clarke Hard disk seven Drawer Cabinets from Machine Mart for piece of work. Once that`southward full, I`ll probably add one of the 9 drawer sets on summit of it.

For the money, they await fine, perhaps non suitable for a decorated garage simply I`m more interested in a tidy storage solution than ultimate robustness :)

  18. Have a look at Britool on the web buy it once and terminal for ever had mine since I was 18 am at present 49 as they say look after you tools they volition look after you
